The Prophetess

(A feeling of the old prophetess somewhere in it - a prophetess of Beauty.)

I was born to know Beauty-

The love beauty...The nature beauty...The body beauty

The god beauty...The art beauty...The machine beauty

The love beauty is always the same and yet not the same.

It is the beauty of the whole earth reflected in your eyes.

Through the translucent touch of your tender hands

I feel the whole delicate splendour of the sun.

Through the long, searching gaze of your eyes

I feel the infinite love knowing of the world

of endless centuries, both ways of time.

In the love singing tone of your voice

I hear the cosmic love music between the stars.

I prophesy of beauty beyond the world’s twilight singing.

I prophesy of splendour beyond the centuries to give.

I prophesy of love filling the world with bliss.

I prophesy of knowledge of inner dreams.

I prohesy of life infinitely lived.

I prophesy of God in whom I am reborn.

I sit here amidst the cross-ways of the world listening for the Word.

I am the daughter of the generations past

And child of unknown time-Egypt and the Pyramids.

I am fulfilling of the deaming dancers of the temples of the sun.

I am the dream of nations that are waiting for release.

I am the messenger of heaven sent to dance ‘The Dance!’

My soul is an Aeolian harp, swept by the winds of heaven.

I am singing songs of silence that are beautiful beyond understanding.

The prophetess sees a vision of body alone or in illumination.

She sees how the soul is purified, how the Self

Of humanity must be tried

And tested, tempted and released.

She sees that on the mountain top of spiritual ecstasy.

She is caught up in the spirit.

When you approach nearest the Divine principle

do not be surprised that you mut share the hemlock cup!

This is my sermon.

I am one who cannot by her very destiny give forth day by day, but must posit her realization ahead of her time and then when the hour shall come this soul shall breathe forth its ecstasy.
