What is the happiest thing this Christmas tide?

So much is happy beyond likely luck;

But this news from the West,

That you, of whose success I prophesied,

Have known the pleasure of a people’s praise,

And stand upon the threshold of bright days

Having the rose of glory within pluck,

This is the happiest tiding and the best.
